Haggai 1:1 (KJV)

1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,

The word of the Lord came

When God wants to communicate, He speaks. He will send His word to help His people. He is not a silent spectator. He always comes forth to help with His word.

We murmur and complain that we can’t hear God’s voice. We pray and say that He is silent all the time. Nothing can be further from the truth. God is always looking for opportunities to talk to you.

Prophet, king (governor), high-priest

God works through a team. The spirit of oneness is revealed when all three people came together to save their nation.

God could have spoken to Zerubbabel directly, but He sent a prophet to deliver the message and he wanted the priest to be a part of the plan too. That’s how the Father, Son and Spirit work. They work together to establish the thoughts of God. They don’t do their own stuff. They walk in the WAY of the other.

God wanted man to work like Him. In perfect harmony. When you do that, you can create life. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Genesis 1:26 (KJV)

Today, we are all prophets, kings and priests in the kingdom of God. For we are the children of the New Covenant.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 1 Peter 2:9 KJV

The Helper

When the Lord is assigning a task to you, He will send you the right helpers. In the spiritual realm, the Holy Spirit is with you to guide and comfort you. In the natural, He will send you out with people who share your vision and dream.

The prophet gives you the word and walks away. From then onwards, the battle is in your mind. During that time, it is the high-priest who helps you stand firm in the promise you have received by encouraging you to worship the Lord.

Today, the Holy Spirit is with us. He strengthens and encourages us to worship God when we get discouraged by our circumstances.
