I had the perfect plan on paper. I knew the exact amount of time I was going to spend on each project that I had taken up. But then, life happened while I was busy making those plans. A few weeks ago Fever entered the prohibited territory, the uninvited ‘guest’ snuck in and made itself comfortable without a warning. 3 weeks on, I’m still recovering from it.
I didn’t want to write about it because then I would have to state ‘I have fever’ which is an incorrect expression in the life of a believer. How can I utter that? That’s untrue. It’s a lie. Because the WORD says, ‘By His stripes you were healed.’ (1 Pet 2:24)
But I felt that a lot of us go through those moments when we don’t see the manifestation of the truth in our circumstances and reality. Therefore I decided to write about the journey.
Tweets, messages, sms, Bible…everywhere I went, goodness and mercy was following me all the time. He strengthened me with His word every day. He didn’t talk about ‘how to get healed,’ doctrine or theology, He sent his word to remind me that He is with me all the time.
A picture from God
Before this whole thing started, while worshiping on a Sunday morning, God filled my mind with a beautiful picture (it wasn’t a vision, I simply sensed this).
Fire is raging in the sky, a huge massive cloud comes beneath it and swallows up a person standing underneath.
Immediately God interpreted it for me. When the enemy rages, God will swallow you up into His presence, His arms, His territory. And you will be tucked away, hidden from the eye of the enemy. The fire can’t enter the cloud! That’s the whole point. You are hidden under the shadow of His wings.
However, I didn’t realize its importance till the enemy entered my zone.
A healing testimony on whatsapp
Someone sent a video that anchored me in Christ during this time.
This highlighted the importance of sharing the good news. Just keep sharing the post, video, sms etc. Someone is going to be blessed by what you share.
The fiery temptation
The enemy wasn’t silent. He took the picture I received from God and tried to twist it.
The picture of the cloud had an encouraging effect on me when I received it. But during the week, when the fever didn’t abate, the enemy took it and gave a different interpretation. He reminded me of Elijah who was swallowed up by a fiery cloud. He said that it was the right way to interpret it. And you know what that means. He was trying to frighten me!
This is when I could have faltered with fear, but immediately the Spirit reminded me of the healing testimony that revealed the heart of God. He is a pro-life God, He doesn’t speak death to His children. He only speaks life -abundant life.
This is how the enemy can mess with your thoughts if you aren’t careful during a difficult situation. The deceiver can’t create anything good. He can’t create his own language. He takes what is created and corrupts it.
So, dear reader, I encourage you to stand firm in Christ when you go through a fiery trial. Let the cloud of peace that passes all understanding embrace you, may you dwell in the secret place of the most High abiding under the shadow of His wings.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Rom 8:31
