120 believers gathered together in the Upper room to wait upon the Lord.

With all their heart, soul, and mind they stayed together to declare their love for God.

They allowed the Spirit to overshadow them. They emptied themselves to give Him space to operate.

Until then, they had seen and believed. But now they started to believe without seeing.

And on the 120th day they gathered around the table as usual. They didn’t know that it was their last lap.

“When the Feast of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force – no one could tell where it came from. It filled the whole building. Then, like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks, and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.’ ACTS 2:1-4 MSG

That’s what we are called to do!

Wait upon the Lord, renew our strength and then rise up like the eagles.

What should we do while waiting?

Just continue to follow His instructions.

Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. John 2

So, fill yourself with water just as the servants filled the water pots at the wedding of Cana.

When we align ourselves with the Word, we cast down the imaginations of our mind that belittles the mighty plans of God.

One place, one heart, one faith, one Lord. This is how they submitted themselves to His will.

They sank into the river knowing that He would lift them up.

That’s what John’s baptism is all about.

By faith you walk away from the ‘life’ that you’ve known, you sink into the river of Life knowing that God’s hand will not let you perish or drown.

He will lift you up with His mighty hand. And then declare the truth about you to the entire cosmos.

And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Mark 1:11

The wonderful counselor, Mighty God everlasting Father, Prince of Peace enters your heart and makes all things new.

You are born again!
What a wonderful thing it is to see the kingdom through the lens of Christ!

You see your Father’s Face, His radiance, His smile!

(And this will make you smile!) 🙂

And then you shall know the truth that will set you free to live the abundant life.

When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20 NLT

I think I’ve digressed from the Upper Room!

So let’s get back to the Upper room. After 120 days their hearts were ready for the outpouring of the Spirit.

The Baptism of fire!
The exceedingly abundant Good Gift! The fullness of God that dwelt in Jesus was waiting to fill the heart of man.

David wanted to give a gift and God honored David’s request and let Him build the temple. He strengthened David’s arm to fulfill his desire.

Now, we need to honor Him and let Him find rest. Jesus said, ‘The Son of Man has no place to rest.’
Because He was looking for His workmanship, His poema,His treasure, His pearl that He had lost.

In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Eph 2:21-22

The Spirit hovered over the waters of their hearts.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Gen 1:2 KJV 2000 Bible

He found them in the Upper room. They had entered into His rest, the 7th day, the eternal jubilee. And He found rest when they delighted themselves in Him.

And He blessed them with the desires of His heart. The Spirit invaded the Earth! And water became wine!

“And He said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.”” John 2

He filled their cup and it started to overflow. He gave them a new tongue because their hearts had been renewed and restored.

From that day onwards, they would sing a new song unto the Lord. Out of the abundance of their hearts, their mouths would speak.

The same Holy Spirit is here in our midst! He has invaded our hearts.
Drunk in the Spirit, Let us speak of His wonders.

And when the world sees the believer, let them see the Lord.

So welcome Holy Spirit!
Thank you for dwelling within us.
My comforter, My Savior,
My eternal place of rest,
Let the restoration of all things begin,
And let our mouths be filled with the gift of new tongues.

The tongues might baffle many. But He is God, the Lord of Hosts. He issues the command that’s perfect for that specific day, time and season.

All creation is waiting to be led into all truth. And it’s not going to happen with the old tongue, the old wine and wineskin.

We’ve filled ourselves with water, now let’s be led by the Spirit. If we are the bride, it’s time to join Him and say ‘come.’

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
